All accredited Louisiana bred foals of 2006 auctioned in the Breeders Sales Company of Louisiana sale in 2007 are eligible for the Bayou State Bonus. Any colt or gelding sold in the sale who wins the 2008 Louisiana Champions Day Juvenile ($100,000), the 2009 Crescent City Derby ($75,000), and the 2009 A.L. "Red" Erwin Memorial Stakes, will receive a $100,000 bonus awarded at the official completion of the final race. Any filly sold in the sale who wins the 2008 Louisiana Champions Day Lassie ($100,000), the 2009 Crescent City Oaks ($75,000), and the 2009 Elge Rasberry Memorial will receive a $100,000 bonus awarded at the official completion of the final race.
The bonus will be added to the earnings of the winning horse and connections of said horse after the official completion of the final race.
